Lebanon Valley College, a small liberal arts college, promotes an eclectic atmosphere that permeates the area, with cafes, specialty shops, and even influences the local movie theater. Walking along Main Street, Annville, one passes beautiful old stone buildings which would be at home in any 18th or early 19th century neighborhood. A Little History on Annville, PAAnnville is named for the wife of Andrew Miller, one of the earliest residents, who, in the mid 1700’s had received a grant of land from William Penn’s sons. Lebanon Valley College was founded in 1866 and is notable for being the first co-educational college in the Eastern U.S. and recently has been named one of the top 10 private four-year colleges in the Northeast. A decade before WWII, Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA, Lebanon County, became a training-ground for U.S. military. “The Gap” currently one of the larger training sites for the National Guard in the country. It is also known for its national cemetery, which has the largest monument of Veterans Administration National Cemeteries.
